Moderators

With the site here growing, and the administrators having a busy life, there may be a need for forum and board moderators. Many of the other sites have them, and they help the site owner maintain order--why not have one or more moderators here?

We had those... now we have none, but the world wide web is sporting another paranormal site! (inside joke)

Robin helps out, but we dont have any 'official moderators' right now. We're pretty much unmoderated. Sometimes setting up moderators can lead to it's own special brand of trouble.

But we'll keep it in mind and if we do look for mods, we'll let you know DSB. Nice articles you posted today. Thanks for those, Sincerely, Karen

Seems like if we make people mods, they end up mad at us, so in order to keep our friends we aren't making them mods anymore!!!

We had one mod delete the entire database a year or so ago, in anger, removing a huge amount of posts, and it was our bad luck that the server's backup sequence hadnt run the night before...

Then we recently had a squad of mods leave and start their own board because they didnt agree with some major issues with Karen and I.

So we decided to leave the board unmodded for now.

It's a conundrum, eh?

Jilly has been through the mad and sometimes vengeful Mod Squad at her great big, highly active site many more times than we have here at PS... So, I'm guessin' we'll go with her idea of un-moderated, or under-moderator for a while longer.

The administrator of one of the sites (he closed it three months ago) where I became a member, sent me an e-mail telling me that he made me a moderator of one of the forums--then he asked me if I did not mind. He drafted me. He had that much confidence in my abilities--but I didn't mind, I was glad to do it. It's too bad he closed the site though.

But I'm also a 'Global' moderator (the whole board) at another site. The administrator e-mailed me asking if I would like to do it, I guess he too had confidence in me--I said that I would. So I'm no stranger to the position. But, if this site works more favorably without moderators, then perhaps it would be best to leave it that way. thanks for asking though :).....i know there are plenty of people who been here for a longgggggg time who want to be but seen whats happened...maybe one day they will comfy with it...im a mod sort of and even that is scary for them but then i been here for more then 4 years and not hurt them or attemped a hijack..lol...doesnt mean they dont get nervious...i know how they felt i was here when it happened...

and i felt the same way...cause it happened from the same people at my site

its not that they think ur abilities would be bad many many here would have great moderator abilites...its just a break the bored needs for now..and it beenworking fine :)

At some point we WILL have moderators again, and you seem like you would be able to do a good job!!! Just right now, we are recooperating and doing some revamping, some upgrades, and after we're all ready we will be taking mods again - so if you are still here when we are done cleaning up, we'll be talking to you!!

find a fairy u like..right click right on it...a window will pop up to save it...click till u get ur pictures in the box...oops before that (save as) not savethen click to the u get ur picutres then press open and make sure it saves as gif..there will be a drop menu under the picutures with file extentions...just put it too gif..when u see it its easy.....

we mostly use photobucket.com to save images to load on the net

upload it there and then put it in ur avator area or ur siggie...

photobucket gives u all the codes so its easy..

any questions dont be afraid to ask...i do sujest trying till u get it cause once u do get it a whole other world on here opens up...:)

HI GUYS, speaking of mods,(I got here kinda late, I was out visiting the neighbors) I just met the worst troll I've ever encountered. Boy did I have fun. He was practicly foaming at the mouth calling me a lieing sack of s*** among other things. It was great fun. I may get a little 'testy' at times, this guy goes berserk. So yea they needed a mod that could handle me without getting upset about it. I did stretch the limits but I wanted to see how far I could go before getting kicked off the board. Apparently quite a ways, and I can still post as far as I know. I did get a small warning to clean it up which I did, The other guy went ballistic about that time so I jumped right back in and there were no other reprimands. I think the Mods were as tired of this guy as everyone else.

I believe this guy deserved everything I said and more. I read all the posts he put forth and 90% of it was some kind of bashing on the other guys. They were sick and tired of this clown. I wish you could read some of the stuff he came up with. anyways it's good to be back with my 'moderatley' nice people.

I promise I'll never talk that way to you guys though. I invented some new cuss words just for him. like I said it was fun but there are times when I welcome a moderator stepping in, like they should have done before things got as bad as they did.
