Your numbers can be divided into 2 types. The ones calculated from your name and from your birth date.

The ones from your names are a good instrospection tool because they describe who you are.

- Expression number (full name, including middle name) : who you are.
- Soul's Urge number (or Heart's Desire, vowels only) : what you want to be
- Personality (consonants only) number : how people see you.

In a nutshell, the ones from your Birthdate tell you what kind of life you're going to have. Here are just a few of them :

Positive Aspect
The first of the numbers, the number one is associated with leadership. People whose life number is one also display trains of creativity, self-reliance, enterprise and energy. Negative Aspect

Birthdate : there are 3 methods for calculating your life path numbers. I usually use one of them and check with another if the result is 2, 4, or 6, which may be the reduction of a master number (11, 22 or 33)

Method 1 :

reduce the day, month and year separetely, then add the result and reduce again.

10 -> 1+0 -> 1
20 -> 2
1963 -> 1+9+6+3 - > 19 -> 1+9 -> 1

So your calculated life path number is 1 + 2 + 1 +> 4

Method 2

Add up all the digits

1+0+2+0+1+9+6+3 -> 22, and you stop there because it's a master number. Otherwise, you'd continue to reduce

For the numbers derived from the name (how it's written on your birth certificate) , it's the same principle. You either add all the numbers together or you do it separately for each name and add the results. Check for hidden Master Numbers too if you get a 2, 4, 6. Here's the letter/number correspondance

When applying to Life periods, years... numbers give some particular insight. They're more about the kind events you'll go through.
And one important thing about Personal years is it's a succession of cycles of nine years, with numbers going from 1 up to 9. (while for pinnacles, the values are determined by your birthdate). And you have some karmic law effect to take into account. For example, in Personal year 8, it's said you get the vibes that will make you break a relationship, it doesn't mean you'll have to divorce your beloved hubby. It means if you're in a lame relationship, this is the year when it's likely to come apart. Like always, what you reap is what you sow.

The Number Nine year represents completions, endings, losses, spiritual fulfillment, manifestation of desires and unconditional love.
